Bertram W. McDowell, Jr., heads the Norwalk office of Boyle | Shaughnessy Law, where he focuses his efforts on defense and plaintiff civil litigation.  Bertram’s practice is concentrated in the areas of premises liability, catastrophic injuries, motor vehicle accidents, product liability, contract disputes, medical malpractice, large fire loss, workers compensation, and wrongful death. Bertram is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut. 

Prior to joining Boyle | Shaughnessy Law, Bertram worked at a large law firm in Hartford, where he represented individuals in plaintiff’s personal injury matters. 

Bertram is passionate about community involvement. He currently serves as a member of the board for Ascend Mentoring, Jumoke Academy Charter Schools, and The Black Man Can. He also serves as a Basketball Coach in his town. Due to Bertram’s contributions in the legal field and in his community, he has been given the 100 Men of Color Award for 2017.
