Bhanuka Y. Mahabamunuge is an Associate in the Hartford office of Boyle | Shaughnessy Law.
Bhanuka received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Business from Central Connecticut State University. During his time at Central Connecticut State University, Bhanuka was a student athlete and part of Central Connecticut State University’s NCAA Division 1 Track and Field team.
Bhanuka obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. While in law school, Bhanuka was a Notes and Comments editor for the Journal of International Business and Law. As a member of the law journal, Bhanuka’s note regarding the legalization of online sports gambling was chosen to be published in volume 18 of the Journal of International Business and Law. Bhanuka was also a part of the South Asian Law Students society (SALSA).
Prior to joining Boyle | Shaughnessy law, Bhanuka was an Assistant Corporation Counsel for New York City’s Administration for Children’s services. As an Assistant Corporation Counsel, Bhanuka has litigated numerous cases on behalf of the City of New York. During his time as Assistant Corporation Counsel, Bhanuka has appeared before and successfully argued in the Appellate Division First Department for the State of New York.
