Pawel Z. Binczyk
Pawel Z. Binczyk is an Associate based in the Portland office of Boyle| Shaughnessy Law. His practice is concentrated on civil litigation, premises liability, education, trucking, and construction. He is admitted to practice in Maine and Massachusetts. Pawel is a 2008 graduate of Amherst College, a 2011 graduate of the Catholic University of America Law. In addition to his civil practice, Pawel serves part-time as a uniformed general counsel for the Maine Army National Guard’s 52nd Troop Command.
Pawel’s practice presently focuses on litigating claims against organizational clients in a broad range of contexts. Among his diverse pool of clients, he has represented school districts, recreational centers, and charities in responding to and, if necessary, litigating claims against them. Pawel is adept at balancing the needs of organizations that frequently interact with the public.
Prior to joining Boyle| Shaughnessy Law, Pawel served in a variety of roles on active duty in the United States Army JAG Corps. He served overseas in Germany, Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia. His military litigation practice focused on cases involving child victims, special victims, intimate partner violence, and homicide. Pawel was heavily involved in the Army’s response to growing public scrutiny surrounding reports of sexual assault. He helped create the Army’s first Combined Sexual Harassment and Assault Resource Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, in Washington, and has trained and advised dozens of commanders on responding to reports of discrimination, harassment, and violence within their ranks. He directly represented victims of sexual harassment, intimidation, and violence in administrative actions against the Army and is a certified child forensic interviewer. In his role as a military prosecutor focusing on special victims, Pawel has investigated and litigated hundreds of cases of sexual assault, harassment, and intimate partner violence.
