
Tanya T. Austin
Focus | Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith
Tanya Austin is a Shareholder in the Boston office of Boyle | Shaughnessy Law. Since joining the firm, Tanya’s practice has concentrated in insurance coverage and bad faith claims under Massachusetts General Laws chapter 93A and chapter 176D at both the trial and appellate level. In addition to litigation Tanya provides assistance to insurers in drafting policy forms and endorsements for personal and commercial policies, and conducts training seminars for insurance professionals on claims handling practices
Prior to joining Boyle | Shaughnessy Law, Tanya worked in plaintiffs’ litigation, including civil rights, medical malpractice, personal injury, and employment law.
Tanya is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the State of California. She has contributed to appellate briefs for the Appeals Court of Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Tanya is a 2005 graduate of Harvard Law School. At Harvard Law, Tanya worked on the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and was a member of the Harvard Law School Mock Trial team. She was a member of the HLS Scales of Justice. Tanya graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
