Attorney Tom Houlihan is a Shareholder in the Hartford, Connecticut office of Boyle | Shaughnessy Law. He focuses his practice in the area of civil litigation, defending a wide range of liability claims and handling cases from inception through resolution. Tom is admitted to practice in the Connecticut state courts, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Tom carefully reviews each client’s matter to develop a personalized defense strategy that best meets the needs of his clients and their insurers. He focuses on implementing a goal-oriented approach to pre-trial and trial proceedings that often results in cost-effective litigation.
Tom has successfully litigated complex motor vehicle, commercial transportation, premises liability, product liability, construction accident, property damage, hospitality, vexatious litigation, and defamation actions involving high exposure claims.
Prior to joining Boyle | Shaughnessy Law, Tom served as a Special Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the judicial district of New Haven, representing the State of Connecticut in various criminal matters.
Tom received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he was awarded with excellence in Clinical Work and distinguished academic achievement in Criminal Procedure and Family Law. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Bryant University, where he studied Politics and Law.
