Yunus “Jonah” Badiab

Overview

Yunus “Jonah” Badiab is an Associate in the Hartford office of Boyle Shaughnessy Law. His practice focuses on the defense in general liability, professional liability, and tort liability matters, while representing insurance carriers, agents, insureds and self-insured entities, as well as professionals in claims of negligence, malpractice, product liability, and other complex civil disputes. As part of his practice, Jonah counsels clients through the initial proceedings and discovery phases of litigation.

Jonah earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law. During his time at UConn Law, he was actively involved in several student organizations, including the Latinx Law Students Association (LLSA), the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), and the Softball Club. As President of LLSA, Jonah is most proud of the organization’s work in expanding networking opportunities for law school students, and increasing outreach initiatives designed to introduce high school and undergraduate students to legal education and the law school admissions process.

During law school, Jonah honed his oral advocacy skills through participation in moot court competitions, earning selection to the esteemed Connecticut Moot Court Board. He also served as an Associate Editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law, further developing his legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.

Jonah earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Eastern Connecticut State University with minors in Pre-Law and Political Science.

Outside of his legal practice, Jonah enjoys staying active, working out, and cheering on Boston and UConn sports teams.
